I'm
attaching a couple of pictures taken of the base weather station at RAF
Sculthorpe about 1962. The one shows a radio on the shelf from which we
first heard the news of President Kennedy's assassination. The third picture is of one of the oil-burning stoves in the Nissen hut that housed the single observers at the beginning of the 1960s. You only ever bumped against it ONCE in the winter! George Hall Jr.
