I urge you to carefully consider dropping your sponsorship of NFL games until their respect for the flag and the sacrifices of military service are evident. Here are some specific conditions which you could provide to the NFL. (1) All protests during the playing of the National Anthem must cease, regardless of whether the protests involve sitting, kneeling, standing with locked arms, or remaining in the locker room. The only acceptable stance is to be on the field and, in accordance with NFL written instructions, standing with the helmet in the left hand and with the right hand over the heart. (2) Any failure to follow this requirement must result in a 15-yard unsportsmanlike conduct penalty, ejection from the game, and a fine equal to 1/16th of the payer's annual pay. (3) If more than one player is in violation, then the 15-yard penalties will be accessed at the beginning of each possession of the offending team until each infraction has been penalized or until the end of the game. (4) If too many players are ejected from the game for the game to be played, then the team with the most offenders will forfeit the game, reimburse all ticket-holders for the costs of their tickets, and reimburse all radio and TV sponsors for the costs of their advertising. (5) Every player who has so far violated the no-protest requirement must make an individual apology to the families of fallen service members, police officers, and first responders. They must do this by purchasing advertising time during a game and giving at least a 15-second verbal apology. They will not be eligible to enter any stadium until the apology is presented. (6) All players much acknowledge in writing that the proper ways to protest are those available to every other citizen, such as through social media, letters to editors, peaceful sign-carrying in public areas, or orating from a soapbox in a public park. Please do not let us down.
